The Down Side of Being in Porn

Before you become a porn star I want you to think long and hard about your decision. There is a down side to being in porn. It’s not all glitz and glamour and good times.

Being a porn star is often times a great way to make money but it has long standing consequences that so many people don’t think of at the time.

For the rest of your life you will always be judged by the time you did porn. The more famous you are, the worse it will be. Girls like The Love Twins (identical twin porn stars) were only in the business for a few years, but they quickly rose to fame because of the unique nature of … well, they were identical twin sisters. How can you not love that? The were in magazines and even became Vivid Girls. It was all great for them at the time. They made great money doing what they did.

The Love Twins

They spent their porn money to go to school and do some kind of nursing thing. In the end though, even with their degrees in hand they still find co-workers would discriminate against them because of their past.

After trying something like 5 different jobs in their field, they finally just gave up and decided to do medical transcription work from home. The sad part is, they worked hard for their degrees and were proud of what they accomplished, without any student loans.

But people are the way they are. They know you did porn and they will sometimes be down right nasty to you about it. It’s sad but it’s a fact of life.

Some people just don’t care. They are confident enough with their life decisions to know that what other people think don’t matter.

And for those people, porn is probably not going to be a problem for you.

But if you ever want to leave porn and be a school teacher, or a politician. Well, it’s probably just not going to happen.

And that is what I want you to keep in mind before you decide if doing porn is right for you. Because once you film a scene it’s out there forever. There is not taking it back. There is no getting it removed.

I’m not trying to say, do not do porn. I’m just saying THINK ABOUT IT FIRST. If you’ve considered all the options – what your your family will think, what your friends will think, what your future co-workers will think. Then move forward, knowing you actually thought long and hard about it first.

Here is a great video featuring several major stars talking about some of their grossest experiences on set.
